Ice Skating <3

Once upon a very fine Saturday, I went out with my class mates for Ice Skating(After years of watching those pretty ice skaters with their slick twists n turns, My very first time to Actually do it.)
Actually, we just had our e-commerce class till 10:am and then a pretty 5 hour gap till e-banking…so we decided to go out. Ice Skating had been opened for non-members at Arena so it was decided as the Venue ( Arena location: Its on Main Karsaz Road next to Bahria Auditorium, Karachi)
Okay, so the entrance ticket is for 250 Rs and you can use that for the games and stuff there (They have Pool, Ice Skating, Bowling etc) Thanks to Samar for sponsoring the cash(Willingly sacrificing her hard earned 500 Rs ;D)….The ticket for Ice Skating was for 300 Rs. And since it was very crowded already, we managed to get tickets for the next round.
And we waited. The guys played pool and we were mere spectators. I was interested primarily in Iceskating and since I was cashless at the mo, did’nt have much of a choice anyways
SO…. ICE SKATING.
Finally it was our turn. I excitedly wore the ice skating shoes, protective gloves, knee and elbow pads – the first one to get ready. Helped some friends with their skates, and then we were on the skating ground.
*drum roll*
It was Whoa. Nothing like I’d ever experienced. Well, I admit I was a bit uneasy/cautious at the beginning, because of the prevalent fear of falling( entertainment for everyone
). Most of the people there including my friends stayed glued to the side railing…taking each step precariously (Including ness
haha )
Me? Well, I wasnt going to kill all the fun by hanging to the railings, so I left it and skated. And I cannot related how amazing I felt…it was like flying, I felt free. Free of everything. Ecstatic.
Yes, I was in love ;P …and then, I fell (and boy, it HURT) But I wasnt gonna give up just like that, i got up and continued, forgeting the pain in less than an instant! (Oh and let those who laugh, laugh. Couldnt care less!) I even helped a couple of girls with their iceskating. They were amazed that it was my first time at it, hahah
By the way, I fell like 10 times or maybe more within an hour there. But it was all worth it! Totally <3. I hadnt had SO MUCH FUN in a long long time…Even though the pain in my back/legs did not recede for almost a fortnight….to me it became a reminder of my lov for Iceskating. =) lol
Oh and the best part is: they recently opened it for non-memebers AGAIN and I’m gonna go as soon as I get done with my finals, insha Allah =D
I’l see you around?

I can testify to her expertise for sure. She’s really great at ice skating! While we babies stuck to the railings, she flew around the rink, even makin the figure 8.
She’s a natural. As soon as she steps on to the ice, the dancer in her is unleashed :p
She had the guts to let go of the safety of the railing. So what if she fell a lot? She set her inhibitions free, some thing very few of us could do
Hahaha, Nessy likes to overstate things a bit.
<3
Allow me to *finally* use the hindi pitchure dialogue i’ve been wanting to for years now.
“Tumne tou bohat chupaya mujhse” =[
HAHAHAHA my babess be an ice pwincess? Whoaa whoaa! =D
I come?
You take me?
We break bones?
Fairies smile? ;D
OFCOURSE LOVE! tum ao toh, we go rock the Icee!

Hi!,
Hi to you too :/
Great review.. I am planning to goto ice skating @ arena and was looking for review of arena skating place for last 30 minutes.. glad to find your blog; you covered both arena and how easy/difficult it is to skate for the first time (A) .. really helpful. Thanks
Oh, Please do go so. Glad to be of service *bows*
Oh! YOU JUST SPURRED ME BACK INTO MY LONG FORGOTTEN ICE-SKATING MEMORIES!
Ah, How I fell in love with the sport.
I wanna go back there, I’ve been so lost in my mundane life’s happenings and well of course the final year of bba
that I never took out time for my once discovered passion! (err and..there was this other reason too: It has got frickin’ expensive after that, and you have really thin chances of going there if you don’t have membership or a member along…)
so do take a member along
and let me know of your trip…summers cominnn, I might just pay my lov a blessed visit soonies, inshaAllah
Have fun, iA
